Manuels River Trail & Hibernia Interpretation Centre

The terrain along the Manuels River Trail was sculpted by glacial movements which occurred over 10,000 years ago! The area is home to some of the most well-preserved fossils in the world and, notwithstanding this, offers a tranquil walking trail along the course of its tree-bordered mountainous terrain. As you follow the gravel pathway paralleling the river, listen to the sounds of birds singing in the trees and enjoy breathtaking nature views. At a relaxed pace, you can complete a one way commute through the trail in about 30 minutes. At the river's edge, were where the river flows into the ocean, you can enjoy captivating coastal and ocean views.

The rocks over which Manuels River flows were once a part of Africa and deposited over 400 million years ago when the continents of Africa and North America collided. The landscape has been carved by volcanic and glacial activity.
